The Audit Results (The Shocking Part)
Once you have opened the Link Genius dashboard, you’ll find that all of your links are set to Unchecked. To check all of your links, you have to click on the Crawl button.
Now you’ve to set all of this as it is, and then click on the Start Audit button. Now you’ve to wait for a few seconds for this process.
The audit revealed several issues that I wasn’t aware of before. Rank Math AI Link Genius found 362 working links, 14 broken links, 1,178 redirected links, 70 robots-blocked URLs, and 31 unchecked links.
The most surprising number was the 1,178 redirected links. This showed that many links on my website were pointing to URLs that eventually redirected elsewhere.
I also discovered 14 broken links and 70 robots-blocked URLs. Thanks to AI Link Genius, I was able to find these issues quickly and start fixing them before they affected my SEO further.
Problem #1: 14 Broken Links Hurting SEO
First, let me show you how you can fix all the broken links using the help of Rank Math AI Link Genius. At first, you’ve to click on the Broken links.
On this page, you’ll find all the details about all the broken links, like View details, Edit, Recheck, and Not Broken. You can easily check the URL by clicking on the View details button.
Then you’ll see a lot of data about the broken links. But if you want to fix the broken links, then you just have to click on the Edit text.
Then you just have to add the new URL and anchor text (If needed), and lastly click on the Save Changes button.
Problem #2: 1178 Redirect Links
Then the redirects tab, now you’ve to click on it, and then all the redirects link will be open.
This tab shows all redirected links found by AI Link Genius. It helps identify URLs that are not pointing directly to their final destination.
During my audit, I found many links with 301 and 302 redirects. This was one of the biggest issues on my website.
A 301 redirect means the page has permanently moved. A 302 redirect means the move is temporary.
Too many redirected links can create unnecessary hops. This can affect crawl efficiency and user experience.
To fix them, I clicked the affected links and checked the final destination URL. Then I updated the old URL with the correct one.
This process helped me clean up my link structure. It also reduced unnecessary redirects across my website.
Problem #3: Robots.txt Blocked URLs
Another issue I discovered was 70 robots-blocked URLs. These are links that search engines cannot access because they are restricted by the robots.txt file.
Not every blocked URL is a problem. Some pages are intentionally blocked to prevent unnecessary crawling.
However, it’s important to review these URLs regularly. Accidentally blocking important pages can limit their visibility in search results.
AI Link Genius made this easy by listing all blocked URLs in one place. This helped me quickly verify that the blocked pages were intentional and not hurting my SEO.
Internal Linking Opportunities I Missed
An orphan post is a page or article that has no incoming internal links. In simple terms, no other page on your website links to it.
Orphan posts can be a problem for SEO. Search engines may have difficulty discovering them, and users are less likely to find them while browsing your website.
In the screenshot, AI Link Genius identified several orphan posts on my website. Some of them had good SEO scores, but they were missing incoming internal links.
The good news is that fixing orphan posts is easy with Link Genius. It automatically suggests relevant pages that can link to those posts.
After adding a few internal links, the orphan posts became part of my website structure. This helps search engines crawl them more efficiently and improves their chances of ranking.
How AI Link Genius Saved Hours of Work
Before using AI Link Genius, auditing links was a slow process. I had to open articles manually and check links one by one.
After running the audit, all important link data appeared in a single dashboard. I could instantly see broken links, redirects, orphan posts, and blocked URLs.
The tool also showed exactly where each issue was located. This saved me from searching through hundreds of posts manually.
For a website with a large content library, this feature is a huge time saver. What could have taken hours was completed in just a few minutes.
Should You Use AI Link Genius?
After auditing more than 1,600 links, I can confidently say that AI Link Genius is one of the most useful features Rank Math has released. It helped me discover issues that I would have likely missed during a manual audit.
The feature is especially useful for websites with a large number of articles. As your content grows, managing internal links manually becomes more difficult.
I also like how it combines link suggestions with link auditing. Instead of using multiple tools, I can manage everything from a single dashboard.
